No shopping experience quite beats the thrill of discovering something useful, delightful, and most important, affordable. Even celebrities love a bargain, and in Cheap(ish) Thrills, we talk to them about their favorite under-$100(ish) things. Here, actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow shares the everyday items she uses the most.

Seedlip has the most incredible nonalcoholic spirits. Over the last year I cut alcohol down to nearly nothing and found that what I missed most was the ritual: using a beautiful crystal glass, adding dashes of fruit or flavor to the drink, and sipping on something while cooking dinner for my family. I find real pleasure in having a drink at the end of the day, and with Seedlip I’m able to completely replace the ritual (with the added benefit of no hangover). They have really unique flavors—I especially love the spice flavor mixed with sparkling water and a slice of fresh blood orange.

This might be my most-bought and most-used item right now—Caddis reading glasses. I’ve turned into a crazy old lady with reading glasses in every drawer, on every surface, in the console of my car. These are the best reading glasses I’ve found. Unlike a lot of other companies, Caddis embraces the coolness of aging, and that’s certainly something I can get behind.

My most-used tool in the kitchen is my lemon squeezer, which I use all the time. It’s the classic, bright yellow one that’s sold practically everywhere. In California we have an abundance of lemon trees, so I’m constantly juicing lemons for all kinds of things. I usually use my microplane tool to zest the lemons, too.

Lululemon leggings are a tried-and-true favorite of mine. The Swift Speed leggings are high-waisted and really hold you in—perfect for all types of workouts and flattering for everyday, casual wear, too. I’ve tried too many leggings to count and always come back to this pair. [Editor’s note: Lululemon leggings also fared well in Wirecutter’s tests, though the Wunder Unders were our favorites.]

I recently bought new bedding for my house in Montecito and turned to Hill House Home for its classic and luxurious bedsheets. I love the crisp and cool feel of its percale set and always pair those with silk pillowcases, which help skin and hair retain moisture and avoid breakage and frizz. I’ve turned all my friends on to silk pillowcases! [Editor’s note: Wirecutter has explored the benefits of silk pillowcases, as well.]

Flying has always been tough for me. I’m a nervous flyer in general. I always tend to catch whatever cold is circulating around the airport, and too much plane time always wreaks havoc on my skin. It’s been trial and error to find something that really works for me. I rely on these vitamin C packets. They are filled with 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C and essential phospholipids—I take one straight at the start of the flight and every day of traveling to help me stay healthy and alert.

When it comes to “cleaner” beauty items, deodorant is so important. But as anyone who has tried natural versions knows, finding one that really works can be a challenge. I have definitely tried a few in the past that didn’t work, and my kids blatantly told me I smelled. Corpus is water-based, long-lasting, and naturally derived from plant extracts. The Cedar Flora scent is beautiful and fresh but doesn’t overpower. The best part? It lasts all day.

I literally put the Fly By Jing Sichuan Chili Crisp on everything. Avocado toast, eggs, anything Asian, and even Mexican. I’ve always loved Asian sauces and seasonings, and this one has to be the best. When I have busy days and am running around, I throw some on an avocado with tamari as a quick snack.

My favorite beauty item (how can I pick just one?!) is our Goopglow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator. I probably use it more than is advised, which is supposed to be only three times a week, but I’m an exfoliation enthusiast. I take a bath every night, and while I’m in the bath, I let the scrub sit on my face for a few minutes. My skin is instantly smoother after, and it adds brightness and evens texture. I couple the exfoliation with Goopgenes face oil—of all our products at Goop, which I founded, this is the one I go through the quickest. It’s a luxurious oil packed with botanical extracts and collagen; my skin just feels nourished.
